Troy Savetz has passed away after being the suspect in Mandy Fackler death over TV
Florida deputy kidnaps, murders ex-girlfriend. Takes his own life.
A mother of two just got home from a beach day in Hudson, Florida with her 9- and 12-year-old kids. Standing in her front yard waiting for her? Her on-again, off-again boyfriend… Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Troy Savetz, 47.
They started arguing over a TV he wanted back. She tried to call 911. He allegedly snatched her phone. She told her children to run inside and call for help and those brave kids did exactly that.
Deputies raced to the home around 5:30–5:35 p.m. on Monday. Too late. Savetz had already forced her into a car and driven off. By around 7 p.m., authorities tracked that car. Both were found dead inside from gunshot wounds.
Savetz had 14 years on the job with Pinellas, assigned to the marine unit. Sheriff Nocco told those kids their mom is looking down proud of them for doing what she told them.
