Suzanne Ambuhl was 59 years old. Shortly before she was found dead inside her Texas home, a terrifying message appeared on her Facebook account.
“Help me he’s trying to kill me my husband help me”
Those were her words. A public plea for help that is now being viewed in an entirely different light.
On Tuesday, October 20, emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 700 block of Antelope Lane in Lampasas. They discovered 59-year-old Matthew Ambuhl deceased on the back porch. When police entered the home, they found Suzanne deceased inside. Both had suffered gunshot wounds.
The Lampasas Police Department has confirmed that investigators believe the incident involved family violence. The Texas Rangers are assisting with the investigation.
And underneath Suzanne’s heartbreaking Facebook message, someone identifying her as “Mom” had written, “Mom, I hope you’re okay. Please!!!”
Imagine seeing that message from your mother and not knowing what was happening.
While authorities have identified Suzanne and Matthew, they have not publicly established who fired the fatal shots or released a final determination about exactly what happened.
But one thing is clear. Suzanne’s desperate message deserves attention, and her life deserves to be remembered beyond the circumstances of her death.
