Caleb Hayden Fosnaugh identified as the suspect who unalived Kate Katerina Tovmash with Matt Wade in Woodlake

We spoke with MCSO Major Eric Galloway at 2:40 pm and he stated that the suspect has been arrested in the area of Coshocton Ohio this afternoon. **

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double homicide that occurred earlier this morning in the Woodlake community of Vass, North Carolina.

On February 14, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Moore County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Daphne Lane in Vass. Upon arrival, deputies located two adults, ages 28 and 21, deceased inside the residence. Emergency medical responders pronounced both individuals deceased at the scene.

The suspect had fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival. Deputies immediately secured the scene and conducted a thorough canvass of the Woodlake community and surrounding areas while investigators began collecting evidence and processing leads.

Detectives have identified Caleb Hayden Fosnaugh, 25, of Ohio, as a suspect in this case. Warrants have been obtained for his arrest for Breaking and Entering and two counts of Murder in connection with the incident.

Investigators do not believe Fosnaugh remained in Moore County following the shooting. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him.

Fosnaugh is believed to be operating a white 2018 Ford Mustang with a black front driver-side fender.

The vehicle may be displaying an Ohio license plate. Fosnaugh should be considered armed and dangerous.

Members of the public are strongly advised not to approach him. Anyone who sees Fosnaugh or the described vehicle should immediately call 911.

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, investigators believe this to be an isolated incident involving known parties. There is no known ongoing threat to the Woodlake community.
