A quiet stretch of Fenkell Avenue turned into an active and emotional crime scene Tuesday night after a devastating chain of events involving three young children.
According to early reports, a 2-year-old girl who had been missing for most of the day was tragically found unresponsive inside a water-filled container after neighbors and family searched for hours.
In a shocking development, police allege the grieving mother later confronted 9-year-old twin neighbors inside their home. By the time officers arrived, both children were found deceased.
The Detroit Police Department flooded the block with patrol units, investigators, and crime scene tape. The mother was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Witnesses say the entire street was filled with flashing lights, screams, and neighbors holding each other as the situation unfolded in real time.
A candlelight vigil is now being organized as the commun.

They’re also no longer @live. I was not gonna be the only one who’s burrying a child, their mother had to g through the same pain as me.”
