Four Killed In Pike County Crash While Fleeing Police

Pike County, Ala. — A late-night crash in Pike County has left four people dead, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Authorities said the single-vehicle crash happened around 11:57 p.m. Friday, April 3, when a 2022 Hyundai Elantra left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Tykevious D. Russaw, 27, of Eufaula, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers — Robert D. Hall, 27, of Clayton, and a 17-year-old juvenile — were also not wearing seat belts. Both were ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

A fourth passenger, Quamay R. Richardson, 24, of Clayton, was not ejected but also died at the scene.

According to ALEA, Russaw was attempting to elude a state trooper prior to the crash.

The wreck happened on Pike County Road 6628 near Pike County Road 6627, about nine miles east of Banks.

Troopers say the investigation remains ongoing.
