Pleasureb Julio identified as the worker who was shot dead over argument on fries at Steak N Shake on Bellefontaine Road

It’s unfortunate to bring this type of update, especially this early, but it has been confirmed that 32-year-old Chauncia La’Shell Meekins was shot and killed while working.

According to St. Louis County Police, the shooting happened late Wednesday night around 11:35 p.m. at the Steak ‘n Shake located in the 11000 block of Bellefontaine Road. Officers arrived and found Meekins and a male coworker both suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police say the situation began as a confrontation in the drive-thru between employees and individuals inside a vehicle. During the argument, someone inside the car pulled out a gun and fired through the drive-thru window, striking both employees before fleeing the scene. Meekins was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her coworker was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

This is a life taken over something so petty. She went to work, clocked in like any other day, trying to make a living, and didn’t make it back home.She leaves behind family and friends who loved and adored her.
