A late-night shooting at the Meadows Apartments on Indianapolis’ northeast side has left one person dead, and four people detained as police investigate.

According to initial reports, officers were called to the 4100 block of Edgemere Court, just off 42nd Street, early Saturday morning after receiving reports of a person shot.

When police arrived, they found the victim suffering from serious injuries. The individual was transported to a hospital where he later died.

Authorities say four people were detained at the scene, but so far investigators have not released additional details about what led to the shooting or whether any charges will be filed.

Video from the scene — which Black Indy LIVE has obtained — appears to capture moments during the incident and the chaotic aftermath inside the Meadows apartment complex. The footage is now circulating as the investigation continues.

Police have not yet confirmed what sparked the violence, and the identities of those involved have not been released, except the victim.
