A woman accused of fatally striking a six-year-old boy with her vehicle in Frayser Thursday afternoon has been arrested, according to Memphis Police.
Kenyunte W. Goss is charged with driving while license suspended, revoked, or cancelled and financial responsibility. Officers reported that around 4 p.m., they responded to a pedestrian who was struck at Signal Street and Whitney Avenue.
Police say Goss was traveling westbound on Whitney Avenue when the front end of her Chrysler 200 struck the victim, who was located in the westbound lane of traffic on Whitney Avenue.
Goss remained at the scene.The child was transported to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
Goss does not have a court date scheduled or a bond set at this time.
Tayvo Muney wrote: “This not for no sympathy but to the family the mother every one who was effected yesterday im sorry i know sorry cant bring back baby boy but if i could trade spots with that precious baby i would in a heartbeat 🥺 i healed him for 3 minutes screaming to the top of my lungs rocking him praying that you he made it … i was the last thing that baby seen before he closed his eyes forever not his mom ,dad , family member me the person who did ts i promise ts is gone be with me forever.”
