Family warned against the release of clip of when John Davis of Coffee Time with John and Momma died on Facebook live stream

This afternoon, the internet lost one of its most genuine souls… and thousands of people watched it happen in real time.

John Davis… the heart behind the beloved Facebook page Coffee Time with John and Momma out of Jellico, Tennessee… passed away during a Facebook Live stream while doing exactly what he loved most. Sitting at the kitchen table, making chicken salad with his momma.

Mid-stream, John paused and quietly told his mother, “Oh Momma, I don’t feel good” before leaning forward onto the table. His momma immediately moved to get him a drink. John briefly lifted his head… and then collapsed backward off his chair.

Neighbors heard the commotion and rushed in as Momma screamed for help. They began CPR with 911 dispatch on the line as emergency services made their way to the home. Neighbors reported that John had no pulse and was turning purple. Despite every effort from everyone in that room, John did not survive. He was 55 years old.

The speed and nature of his collapse suggests John likely passed before he ever hit the floor. Whether it was a cardiac event, stroke, or other medical emergency has not yet been confirmed.

If you’ve ever spent time on their page, you know exactly what made John and Momma special. It wasn’t flashy production or viral trends. It was a son and his mother, a kitchen counter, a cutting board, and food made with genuine love. Over 200,000 people on Facebook alone called that kitchen their comfort place… and tonight, those people are grieving.

His momma was right beside him when he took his last breath. Please keep her in your prayers tonight.

The Facebook Live remains active on their page. We ask that you approach it… and this moment… with the dignity that John and his family deserve. Please do not share or clip the footage.
