A Grade 7 student has reportedly been identified as a suspect in a shooting incident at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University High School Department in Barangay Tumaga, Zamboanga City, today.

Note: The student’s identity and other details should be withheld until officially confirmed by authorities, especially since the individual is a minor.

Customs Police Chief Relieved Amid Administrative Investigation

Lt. Lars Jalani II, who served as Chief of the Customs Police at the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Zamboanga, has been relieved from his post following an administrative investigation related to a shooting incident at Ateneo de Zamboanga University involving a member of his family.

The relief order was issued by Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno as authorities look into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The administrative action is part of the ongoing investigation and should not, by itself, be taken as a determination of guilt. Further details regarding the incident and the outcome of the investigation are expected to be clarified as authorities continue their proceedings.

The development has drawn attention in Zamboanga, particularly given Jalani’s position within the BOC and the involvement of a family member in an incident that occurred within a university community.
