The family of a Detroit father says they’ve been waiting for weeks for answers — and for his remains — from Hutchison Funeral Home.
William Hyter Jr. died unexpectedly Sept. 2, according to relatives.
His family says the funeral home picked up his body Sept. 4, and that an autopsy was performed.
The family says they’re still waiting on a toxicology report to determine an exact cause of death.
The family says they paid for Hyter’s cremation Sept. 16 and were told his body would be sent for cremation the next day.
But when relatives called the funeral home a week later, they say they learned his body was still there.
The family says funeral home staff told them Hyter’s children needed to sign additional paperwork. His son signed the paperwork Wednesday, relatives said, but he still hasn’t been cremated.
