According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, they stopped Christopher Newkirk due to tinted windows on his car and said he was found in possession of Fentanyl, Xanax, Flakka and crack cocaine.
Deputies said when they tried arresting Christopher Newkirk, who BSO said was on federal probation, he began to violently resist, striking a deputy in the face and pushing another to the ground. BSO said a deputy was treated at the hospital due to injuries to his ankle and wrist.
Christopher Newkirk has since been booked on a number of charges that include trafficking of Fentynol, covering his side windows with a sunscreen, three counts of resisting arrest and three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Video shows three deputies on top of the man.
While one has his arm extended, with a closed fist, he strikes the subject in the face. Seconds later, another deputy is seen throwing repeated blows to his head.
Chrishelle Newkirk said she was outraged by the video that shows her father, 41-year-old Christopher Newkirk, being beaten.
“I can’t keep looking at that,” she said. “That breaks my heart.”
Her father was left with a bruised eye that’s swollen shut, cuts and scrapes to his face and a severe gash to his forehead.
