Tributes rolling in as Buddah Sulayman Blue was shot dead at Budget Inn Hotel in Greenville SC

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE ON BRUCE ROAD IN GREENVILLE

GREENVILLE COUNTY SC- The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after being found with a gunshot wound Friday afternoon.

According to the coroner’s office, 49 year old Sulayman Necros Blue of Greenville was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency responders were called to a reported shooting on Bruce Road.

Officials say Greenville County Communications received calls at approximately 2:22 p.m. on March 20, 2026, reporting a gunshot victim at 224 Bruce Road in Greenville. Deputies and emergency personnel responded and located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Despite life saving measures, Blue was pronounced deceased at the scene at 2:48 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.

An autopsy was performed today, March 21, 2026, and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and is being conducted by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Information reads: “Earlier this evening I received a phone call from my brother Abdul Blue Davoicebox Streetlegend informing me that his brother (by blood)  ‘Buddah’ Sulayman Blue was shot- killed at the Budget Inn Hotel in Greenville SC. He asked if I could come up there to join him and the rest of the family because they wanted to get answers. When I arrived his entire family was there along with investigators and residents of the hotel. The scene was taped off, people was crying.. the energy was heavy with grief. Several of the witnesses spoke on the tragedy that had taken place a few hours earlier. Buddah was robbed of a few dollars inside his hotel room, he put up a fight and was shot 4 times. The people at the hotel said he was set up and they weren’t afraid to speak on what happened because Buddah was a good man who would give you the short off his back… even when he was down he showed up for the ones he loved. The individuals involved in the robbery/murder are still at large however the family has vowed to get justice and I will assist them in any way possible to get in done. Rip to 1 of them 1s.
