Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson would like to update the public regarding a viral video on social media:
On March 29, 2026, Ponchatoula Police Department detectives received a Crime Stoppers tip that included a TikTok video of a subject dancing to rap lyrics with a caption referencing the Strawberry Festival.
The video has since gained over 80,000 views, and numerous people have expressed concern that the song lyrics and hand gestures might be a threat.
With assistance from the Louisiana State Analytical and Fusion Exchange (LA- SAFE), detectives located 19-year-old Amari Sexton at his residence in Hammond, LA. The Hammond Police Department then obtained a search warrant for the home and seized several electronic devices.
