A body was found on the northwest end of Horn Island on Monday morning, according to Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter.

Authorities and family members are asking for the public’s help locating Nolan Wells, who was last seen around 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on the west tip of the north side of Horn Island.

According to his mother, Christine Wonsley, Nolan has not yet been found, and search efforts by responding agencies remain ongoing. Anyone who was on Horn Island on July 4, traveled by boat in the area, or may have seen Nolan or given him a ride from the island is urged to contact authorities immediately.

Officials are also asking boaters and visitors near Horn Island and the surrounding barrier islands to remain alert and report anything that could assist search crews. The public is reminded not to interfere with search operations or place themselves in danger.
