Jordan Tarver won’t be able to walk at the graduation after being harassed by some boys over a girl in Auburndale High School.

Taking to social media, his mother cried for help. She wrote below.

Amanda Gaskin wrote: “Today, I am asking for prayer as a mother whose heart is absolutely shattered.

Many of you know our son Jordan. Jordan came into our lives after suffering unimaginable tragedy and losing both of his parents. Since then, he has fought so hard to rise above pain, trauma, and loss. He has worked hard in school, excelled in track, stayed focused on college, and truly tried to build a better future for himself.

Three weeks ago, Jordan ended a relationship. Since then, another young man has made Jordan his target. There have been threatening messages, social media posts, taunting, and repeated attempts to provoke him into a fight. Jordan ignored it all because he knew he had too much to lose. He kept saying, “I’m trying to graduate. I’m not fighting over a girl.”

Yesterday at graduation practice, this boy confronted Jordan and tried to fight him. School administration intervened and removed the aggressor. Jordan was not disciplined because he was not the aggressor.

Today, after practice, it escalated again.

Jordan was followed by a group of boys. He was pushed, taunted, touched in his face, shoulder checked, and provoked repeatedly while trying to walk to his car. When he finally turned around, one of the boys attacked him. Jordan defended himself, got away, got in his car, and called his dad.

My husband told him to drive to him at Home Depot in Winter Haven.

These boys chased my child in two separate cars at high speeds. At one point, they even got out at a red light and banged on his car window. They followed him all the way to Home Depot, where the situation continued and eventually involved my husband and law enforcement.

And while my husband was speaking with police, we received the call that Jordan would not be allowed to walk at graduation tomorrow.

My heart is broken.

This child has already lost so much in his life, and now a once-in-a-lifetime moment has been taken from him too.

I do not know how to console him tonight. I do not know how to explain to a child that doing the right thing still somehow ended like this. I do not know how to tell him to keep believing life gets better when this keeps happening to him.

So tonight, I am asking every praying mother, grandmother, auntie, friend, and believer to please lift up my son Jordan Tarver in prayer.

Pray for his heart.
Pray for his future.
Pray for his protection.
Pray for peace over our family.
And please pray for me, because this mama is struggling tonight.

“Lord, fight this battle for us because we are tired.”
